Jarryd Lay, former employee at Davies Engineering, left his job after almost a decade to return home to the family farm. However, an opportunity came his way that he couldn’t resist: purchasing Dynamic Machining from its founder, Philip Blakely. Today, Dynamic Machining is a leading machining service provider in Esperance, Western Australia.

The Beginnings of Dynamic Machining

Philip Blakely began Dynamic Machining as a small machine shop in a storage shed behind Thermo Air. Starting with just a Haas CNC lathe and a few manual machines, the business quickly outgrew its premises and moved to Gilpin Street. Jarryd and Philip had become friends when they met at Davies Engineering, and Jarryd, along with his wife, jumped at the chance to purchase the business when Philip mentioned he was selling.

Services Offered by Dynamic Machining

Dynamic Machining specialises in manufacturing and repairing all manner of mechanical components for all industries. With two CNC milling machines and three CNC lathes, as well as a variety of manual machines, the company can efficiently complete one-off jobs as well as large-scale production runs.

Specialists in Machining for Esperance Farming Businesses

As specialists in their field, Director Jarryd and his team of three staff assess the mode of failure and then lean on their ever-growing pool of knowledge and experience, as well as their vast array of manufacturing capabilities, to improve functioning and lifespan, and ensure a component will not break again.

Coming from a farming background himself, Jarryd understands the importance of having machinery and equipment working when it needs to be working, (and he notes that breakdowns and delays can cost tens-of-thousands of dollars!). To assist their customers as best they can, the team have adopted a triage system to tackle jobs by prioritising work around seasons and breakdowns.

Recent Developments

Recently, Dynamic Machining moved to new premises on Scanlon Street, which has nearly doubled its floor space and provided a lockable yard. The team has also expanded to include three additional staff members.

Why Shop Local?

Jarryd believes in supporting local businesses, stating that shopping locally helps to keep critical stock and services available when needed.

Benefits of Being an EOPP Supplier

Being an EOPP supplier has benefited Dynamic Machining, as the one lump sum from all the billed jobs to EOPP has been a saviour for Jarryd in managing cash flow in the early days. Today, the company still benefits from the knowledge that EOPP billed work always comes on time, every month.

Conclusion

As the busy season approaches, Dynamic Machining is focused on completing pre-seeding jobs as quickly as possible. With their expertise in machining, commitment to customer satisfaction, and dedication to supporting local businesses, Dynamic Machining is poised to continue growing and thriving in Esperance.
