This time of year always brings a sense of momentum, with one season behind us and the next already taking shape. Alongside that comes the usual mix of planning, pressure, and the unknowns that farming naturally brings.
There’s always something that sits just outside our control – the weather, the timing, and the unexpected challenges along the way. While it’s part of the cycle, it doesn’t always make it easy, and for some, it can feel quite overwhelming.
In moments like this, it’s important we take the time to check in – not just on the work, but on each other.
You may have come across the Blue Tree Project, a simple but powerful initiative created to raise awareness around mental health. It began with one painted blue tree and has since grown into a wider movement, encouraging conversations and reminding communities to look out for one another
It’s a quiet but meaningful symbol – one that represents connection, support, and the importance of reaching out, even in small ways.
A quick check-in, a conversation over the fence, or simply asking how someone’s going can make more of a difference than we realise.
Just like in business, it’s the strength of our connections that carries us through – supporting one another, sharing the load where we can, and looking out for our community.

This month, our Supplier Spotlight highlights JLR Mechanical & Auto Electrical, a locally owned business that has grown from a one-man operation into a trusted provider of mechanical and auto electrical services across Esperance and surrounding areas.
Over time, the business has expanded its capabilities, recently acquiring the Esperance division of Rotech Auto Electrical and bringing together a skilled local team. With a strong focus on reliable service, practical support, and a close-knit team, JLR continues to support local farms, transport operators, and businesses across the region.

JLR Mechanical & Auto Electrical
This month, our Supplier Spotlight shines on JLR Mechanical & Auto Electrical – a local business that has grown steadily over time, built on strong relationships, skilled work, and a genuine connection to the Esperance community.
From One-Man Band to a Growing Local Team
JLR’s journey began as a one-man band, gradually growing as more opportunities came along. What started with maintenance work naturally expanded into equipment hire, allowing the business to support its customers in more ways.
As things progressed, they secured a maintenance contract on a nearby mine site, which then opened the door to offshore work on oil rigs in Bass Strait, Victoria. Over time, the business refined its focus, selling on the mine site contract while continuing with equipment hire and offshore work.
More recently, JLR has taken an exciting step forward, acquiring the Esperance division of Rotech Auto Electrical. This has strengthened their service offering and brought together a skilled local team, including auto electricians and mechanics who are part of the local team.
